Business in the 21st century has increasingly become a global endeavour. Having a broker who understands the complexity of insuring internationally is key to your continued success.
Ocean Cargo insurance protects goods shipped internationally by air or sea. Coverage can be extended to include domestic and overseas inland transit, warehouse storage, exhibition, and installation. Freight forwarders, logisitic providers, and Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers (NVOCC) can also purchase shippers’ interest and legal liability coverage.
Stock Throughput Insurance is a single policy written to cover all of an insured’s raw materials, goods and/or merchandise from the time they have an insurable interest until such interest ceases. This coverage combines traditional ocean cargo coverage and business personal property coverage into one policy. This allows for uninterrupted coverage from “cradle to grave”. This coverage is ideal for importers/exporters and manufacturers with overseas operations.
Supply chain insurance is an “all risk” insurance policy which covers business income lossses due to incidents outside the insured’s control. This policy allows the insured to transfer the risks of their individual supply chains by naming supplies and suppliers to be covered. The “all risks” nature of the policy means coverage is broad and is not necessarilly restricted to property damage like traditional business income coverage. Businesses that heavily rely on a select group of suppliers/vendors, import from overseas, rely on just-in-time supply systems, and/or have complex supply chains are all prime candidates for supply chain insurance.
